CS 010 My tenth guitar is made with sapele back / sides and a very unique top wood. The top for this guitar is cut from a timber which was used as a bridge stringer for a logging bridge in the Skeena River range of British Columbia. The blueish color of the top is from bolts used to connect the timbers of the bridge. Over the years, with sap still running in the logs even though they were cut down, the rust and oxidation from the bolts is carried through the wood causing staining. I believe the constant stressing of the timbers,as trucks loaded with logs ran over this bridge, has "played in" this wood before it ever became a guitar top. It truly makes for a great sounding and unique guitar.
